Bauchi Government worried over poor state of hospitals

Governor Muhammed Abubakar of Bauchi state has expressed concerned over the poor state of government health facilities in the state.

Abubakar ordered for the immediate repairs of theatre equipments and restoration of power and water supply to the General hospital  to improve service delivery and reduce to the bearest minimum the number of deaths in the hospital and the hardship patients face.

The Governor gave the directive after inspecting the General Hospital Azare katagum local government area of the state over the weekend adding that  his administration is worried about the sorry state of public health institutions in the state.

He fumed that monies have been appropriated by past administrations without providing the necessary equipments and services to the people.

The Governor revealed that his administration has already commissioned a renowned hospital equipment supplying company to inspect all hospitals and health centres in the state with a view to awarding contracts for the supply of beds and beddings.

It could be recalled that the present administration has in the proposed 2016 budget appropriated fifteen percent (15 %) to the health sector.
