Community Health and Research Initiative (CHR) on Wednesday, April, 12 2017, announced its readiness to provide a one year partnership to strengthen the secretariat of Health Sector Reform Coalition (HSRC) hosted by Health Reform Foundation of Nigeria (HERFON).
Chairman CHR Board of Trustee, Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba stated this in Abuja during a pre-departure dinner of the Nigerian CSOs engaged in the Global Financing Facility (GFF), ahead of the forth coming World Bank/IMF spring meeting in Washington DC next week.

He said the commitment is in line with the on-going support by CHR in strengthening national accountability mechanism for Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) in Nigeria.
Our correspondent report that in the partnership, CHR will fund a one year staff time of one program assistant and media officer to enable the coalition improve its administrative and programmatic activities.
Dr. Magashi stated that CHR will implement the partnership through unspent funds from its recently concluded Champion for Change (C4C) Project.
“The Health Sector Reform Coalition is a body that brings all the Civil Society Organizations in Nigeria’s Health sector together to improve transparency and accountability and batter engagement with the Federal Government, so I encourage all partners to support the HSRC to be very efficient,” Aminu Magashi said.
During the dinner, the Executive Secretary of HERFON, and the Civil Society Organizations representative in the GFF, Dr. Emmanuel Abanida said the Nigerian delegation attending the World Bank/IMF spring meeting will participate in country learning meeting of the 16 GFF countries, Universal Health Coverage (UHC) financing forum, GFF high level meeting, GFF investors group meeting to mention but few.
Health Reporters correspondent report that some of the participants were members of HERFON Board, E4A Mamaye, NURHI Project, Vaccine Network, AfryPOD, CS Rep on FP 20-20 Reference group and the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) among others.
