Governor Zulum signs N248bn 2021 budget, pledges to prioritise health sector

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum has signed the state N248 billion 2021 budget into law.

Speaking shortly after signing the budget, Governor Zulum urged all government ministries, departments and agencies to comply strictly with the provisions of the budget.

The governor expressed appreciation to the state House of Assembly for the speedy passage of the budget.

Prof. Zulum said that his administration would continue to place priority on the health sector by ensuring effective healthcare services, security, education, agriculture and the provision of portable water to the people.

Earlier, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Alhaji Abdulkarim Lawan said that the budget was raised from N208 billion to N248 billion to lay foundation for industrial growth in the state.

Health Reporters had reported that the governor had on December 9, presented a budget of N208 billion to the House for approval. But the lawmakers raised the amount to N248 billion.
