Mamaye activist tasks Bauchi on TBA’s training

A Mamaye super-activist under the Evidence for Action (E4A), Mrs. Hauwa Ibrahim Pukuma has called on the Bauchi state Ministry of Health to conduct more training for Traditional Birth attendants (TBA’s) in all the 20 local government areas of the state.

Mrs. Pukuma made the appealed at the end of a three day stepped down training organized by Bauchi state Accountability Mechanism for Maternal and New Born Health (BaSAM) Azare, Katagum Local Government Area of the state.

“Most of the traditional birth attendants don’t know their limits and which delivery to attend to and which to carry to the health facilities before it becomes complicated.

“The training will also educate and enhance cordial working relationship between midwives and the TBA’s in the state,” She observed.

According to her, TBA’s are not supposed to conduct any delivery with assign of complication such as PV bleeding, eclampsia, pre-eclampsia, multi- graridaes, primi-gravidaes and elderly primips as well as prolonged and obstructed labour.
