Kano: Magashi chairs healthcare services, as Gubernatorial Transition Committee announces 31 sub-committees

The Kano State 2023 NNPP Gubernatorial Transition Committee (GTC) has released a list of 31 Sub-committees for various sectors and sub-sectors of the transition process.

A statement by Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor-elect, said the Chairman of the Transition Committee, Dr Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, announced the Sub-committees’ list on Thursday.

He said the transition process will be rigorous to ensure that everything inherited from the MDAs is properly analysed and documented for informed future decision-making by the incoming government of Governor-elect, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf.

The healthcare services sub-committee will be chaired by the Founder and Coordinator of the Africa Health Budget Network (AHBN), Dr Aminu Magashi Garba.

The statement further listed the Sub-committees to include: Education, Healthcare Services, Recovery of Public Properties, Works and Infrastructure, Women Affairs and Social Development, Housing and Transport, Environment and Climate, Finance, Budget and Economic Planning and Water Resources.

The chief press secretary added that notable personalities including former Deputy Governor, Prof Hafiz Abubakar, Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Umar Haruna Doguwa, the immediate past State Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Shehu Wada Sagagi, Dr Aminu Magashi Garba and Dr Danjuma Mahmud among other technocrats, politicians and professionals in various field of human endeavour formed part of the Transition Sub-committees.

The Chairman of the 2023 Gubernatorial Transition Committee Dr Bichi enjoined all members of the various committees to swing into action and ensure due diligence and utmost professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
