The Aminu Magashi Garba Foundation (AMG Foundation), has announced additional support of N750,000 to Cancer Trust Fund in Kano, to support the activities of the organisation.
The Chairman of the foundation and Coordinator of Kano Cancer Care Centre, Dr Aminu Magashi Garba made the announcement yesterday when he received Board of Trustees of the Trust Fund.
The trustees were at the Kano Office of the Africa Health Budget Network (AHBN) to discuss with the chairman of AMG Foundation, on how to strengthen the Trust Fund and mobilize more funds to cater for the needs of indigent cancer patients in Kano.
Health Reporters report that 50 percent of the pledge amount was already released to the trustees to support their activities.
The Cancer Support Trust Fund was established in February 2021 as a partnership between Community Health and Research Initiative (CHR) and Save a Live Cancer Support Network to support indigent cancer patients in Kano state.
They offer support that includes registering and paying their yearly premium with the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) and supporting them with drugs among others.
It would be recall that in 2022, the AMG Foundation has N1 million to the Trust Fund.
