The seven winners of the 2025 4th edition of Dr. Aminu Magashi Annual Award of Excellence for Frontline Health Workers were honoured and celebrated during an event held Saturday at the Tahir Guest Palace, Kano, Nigeria.
Giving a brief overview of the award, the Director Operations of the AMG Foundation, Mallam Jalo Sulaiman, stated that the award was instituted and launched in Abuja in year 2022 by the AMG Foundation.
He said the award was instituted to identify, honour and celebrate unsung frontline health workers in Nigeria who have demonstrated and achieved great excellence in their fields of endeavour with a view to creating resilient and professional approach in tracking and providing solutions to challenges in healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
Mallam Jalo further stated that the 4th edition (2025) celebrated outstanding health workers from Bauchi, Borno and Sokoto in December last year with an award and a cash prize of N50,000 each.
The seven winners of the 4th edition (2025) received an award and a cash prize of N50,000.
The celebrated outstanding health workers are; Maryam Musa Maishanu, Most Dedicated PHC Staff; Aliyu Ibrahim, Most Dedicated PHC Staff and Shu’aibu Ishaq Salisu; Most Committed Volunteer PHC Staff.
Others are; Maryam Badamasi Hussain, Most Committed Volunteer PHC Staff; Tajouddeen A. Rabi’u, Most Patient Friendly PHC Staff; Amina Ali Umar, Most Patient Friendly PHC Staff and Shu’aibu Kabir Abdullahi, Best Performing LGA Immunization Officer.
In their separate remarks, participants and the awardees lauded the sustained initiative and thanked the AMG Foundation for its efforts in advancing healthcare services in Kano state and beyond.
The event was graced by notable individuals and organizations, the likes of the CEO, Pharma Plus Nigeria, Pharm. Ahmad Ibrahim Yakasai, Prof. Muhammad A. Abbas.
Others are; the Director General of the Kano Centre for Disease Control (KNCDC), Mukhtar Rabi’u Abubakar, Deputy Director, Project Manager, State Emergency Routine Immunization Coordination Centre, heads of NGOs, friends and families of the awardees and the media.
