The Africa Health Budget Network highlights the role of PMNCH’s Nigeria Collaborative Advocacy Action Plan (CAAP) in advancing recent progress on family planning financing.

AHBN is leading the implementation of the CAAP in Nigeria, with family planning financing identified as the first advocacy goal under the plan.

This prioritization provided a structured and coordinated pathway for collective advocacy, helping to align partners around a shared objective.

As the convening partner of the CAAP, AHBN worked closely with partners to drive evidence informed engagement and policy dialogue in support of the release of funds for the 2025 family planning allocation in Nigeria.

We acknowledge the strong collaboration of the Association for the Advancement of Family Planning (AAFP), the Health Reform Foundation of Nigeria (HERFON), MAYE Working Group, Association of Nigerian Health Journalists (ANHEJ) amongst others, whose contributions strengthened advocacy efforts and accountability throughout the process.

We also acknowledge the role of UNFPA, for providing co financing support for family planning commodities procurement in Nigeria.

AHBN remains committed to working with government and partners to strengthen accountability for family planning financing in Nigeria and to ensure that allocated resources deliver sustained impact for women and girls.
