The Nigeria Air Force has carried out a two-day free medical treatment outreach to host communities of Bauchi State International Airport.
Our correspondent reports that the free medical care is part of the activities to commemorate the 52 years anniversary of the Nigerian Air Force since its establishment.
The medical outreach was carried out in Gubi and Durum communities which were located close to the newly established Nigerian Air Force Base under construction in the state.
Commander of the new 89 Composite Group Bauchi, Air Commodore Sule Lawal said the medical team carried out treatment for illnesses like Malaria as well as blood tests to detect other diseases.
Other medical services offered according to him include; Eye tests and treatment, Dental services.
The planned 52 years anniversary scheduled to hold on the 13th and 14th of April in Bauchi is tagged ‘Re-Uniting for Enhanced Service Delivery and Operational Effectiveness’.
The commandant added that the programme is aimed enhancing the force operational capacity through partnership with retired personnel in order to attain a virile and self-reliant Airforce.
“It would also provide opportunities for the exchange of ideas that could lead to the building of partnership with informed participants in the fight against insurgency in Nigeria,” he said.
He added that the programme will also offer a platform for interaction and a re-union between serving and retired Airforce personnel.
