The Kano State Police Command has presented cash support of N1 million to 36 influential youths at the State Police Headquarters, in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on incorporating community-based strategies in crime prevention, management and control,

A statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSO Haruna Abdullahi Kiyawa, said the money was donated by a philanthropist, Alhaji Baffa Babba Dan Agundi, which forms part of the Command’s ongoing reintegration initiative aimed at transitioning vulnerable youths to productive livelihoods.

While disbursing the funds, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, urged the beneficiaries to invest the money wisely in their existing trades and small businesses rather than on non-essential items.

“The most important thing is discipline and reinvestment. No amount is too small to grow if you are committed,” CP Bakori said.

He noted that many of the beneficiaries have since abandoned crime, are now engaged in various trades, and some are married with families of their own.

CSP Kiyawa said the event featured goodwill messages from key stakeholders whose synergy continues to drive the success of the initiative.

The Chairman of the Kano State Council of Ulama, Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil, commended the initiative and pledged an additional personal donation this Thursday.

He urged the youth to become good ambassadors of their families, communities, and the State, citing examples of individuals who became respected religious and community leaders after renouncing crime.

The donor, Hon. Baffa Babba Dan Agundi ably represented by Hon. Nasiru Usman Na’ibawa pledges more support in youth Empowerment.

The Command equally appreciates the presence and support of the Chairman of AMG Foundation, Dr. Aminu Garba Magashi, and the Executive Director of YOSPIS, Zainab Naseer Ahmad, for their goodwill messages and sustained commitment to youth reformation and community safety.
