The Africa Health Budget Network (AHBN) has reiterated its commitment to support the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (FmoH) in promoting women and children’s health in Nigeria.

AHBN Health Economist, Mrs Maimuna Abdullahi stated this in a goodwill message during a three-day Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, Adolescent Health and Nutrition (RMNCAH+N) strategy (2023-2027) validation meeting with stakeholders organised by the FmoH.

She applauded the federal government for its continuous effort in advancing the health of women and children in Nigeria.

Mrs Abdullahi assured FMoH of AHBN’s strong commitment in promoting the health of women and children.

She advocated for the active involvement of young people, CSOs and media in RMNCAH+N program decision making processes.

She strongly emphasized the importance of enhanced accountability and transparency in the implementation of the RMNCAH+N strategy.

According to her, it will support stakeholders to track the progress of implementation and AHBN is committed to support through development of a scorecard that could be used by CSOs and other stakeholders.

The AHBN Health Economist also advocated to all stakeholders to remain consistent and committed in resource mobilization efforts towards improving the RMNCAH+N agenda in Nigeria.

Health Reporters gathered the overall goal of the strategy meeting was to reduce maternal, neonatal, child, adolescent and elderly morbidity and mortality in Nigeria, and promote universal access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services.
