AHBN Community of Practice visits Borno SPHCDB

The Africa Health Budget Network (AHBN) Community of Practice (CoP) has paid an advocacy visit to the Executive Secretary of the Borno State Primary Health Care Development Board, Professor Mohammed Arab Alhaji, ahead of the planned quarterly meeting of the community.

During the visit, the AHBN Coordinator, Dr Aminu Magashi Garba appreciated the ES on behalf of the AFENET/AHBN consortium for the support in creating a smooth operating ground for the implementation of the ZDLH Project.

Represented by Dr Hassan Shu’aibu Musa, the coordinator used the opportunity to extend the gratitude of AHBN for the support from staff of the Board and partners working in the State towards ensuring the success of the ZDLH Project especially in the two ZDLH LGAs of Maiduguri Metropolitan Council and Jere.

Dr Magashi assured the ES that this level of commitment is critical towards ensuring that no child is left behind.

In his remarks, Chairman of the CoP assured the ES that they will do all it takes to ensure the success of the Community of Practice and the ZDLH Project by working with both the government and the non-government actors on the community to strengthen the immunization budget landscape in the state.

He appreciated the ES for his transparent leadership style and his commitment to deliver on the mandate of the Board.

The CoP Chair equally used the occasion to inform the ES of the upcoming quarterly CoP meeting and its objectives and extended an invitation to the ES to be part of the meeting and to declare it open at the Polio EOC.

Responding, Prof. Alhaji appreciated AHBN/CoP members and all partners working in the state on the sustained support to the Board and assured the delegation that his office is always open for any idea that will bring about an improvement in the health outcomes across the state especially in addressing the gaps in immunization demand generation and uptake.

He pledged to support the Community of Practice to deliver on the mandate enshrined in its establishment.

Other members of the delegation includes the AFENET STL Dr Musa Melton, the Representative of UNICEF Mr Bashir Elegbede, the AHBN Borno State ZDLH FP, Dr Adamu, the Borno State Immunization Officer (SIO) Alhaji Maina Modu and the SERICC/CoP Secretariat lead Adam Gujja Adam.
