AHBN Coordinator Visits Provost of UNIMAID College of Medical Science

The Coordinator of the Africa Health Budget Network (AHBN), Dr Aminu Magashi Garba has paid an advocacy visit to Professor Muhammad Bukar, the Provost of the College of Medical Science of the University of Maiduguri, Borno State.

Dr Magashi paid the advocacy visit alongside his class mates, Professor Ibrahim Abdul (MD FNPH, Maiduguri), Professor Abubakar Farate (HOD Nuclear Medicine Department UMTH), Professor Hassan Dogo (HOD Surgery,UMTH), with Hon. Mohammed Usman and Dr Adamu A Umar.

A statement by AHBN Zero Dose Learning Hub (ZDLH) State Focal Person for Borno State, Dr Adamu A Umar, said the advocacy visit was on the sidelines of Dr Magashi’s visit to Maiduguri for the Immuization Scorecard validation meeting

The delegation also inspected the already completed 10KVA solar power system project within the college that was conceptualized and succesfully executed by Dr Magashi and his classmates (MBBS Class of 2001) and awaiting commissioning and hand official hand over to the College.

The provost warmly received the delegation and had a very fruitful discussion around the development of the college and the role alumni members can play in projecting the image of their Alma mata.

Earlier, Dr Magashi and his classmates visited one of their classmates Dr Zaharadden Dauda (A Neurosurgeon) who had been wheelchair bound for years following an RTA with a commitment for the class to rally round to support him in his recovery period.
