Wife of Nigeria’s President Aisha Buhari has pledged to align with ministries and agencies as an advocate to improve Girl Child Education, Family Planning, Maternal Health, and Nutrition and to encourage Private Sector Investment in Nigeria.

Aisha made the pledge in a meeting with heads of international organisations working in Nigeria. She said the advocacy would begin in earnest with the development of an advocacy operational plan.

The Wife of the President in her pledge said “I Aisha Muhammadu Buhari will support and encourage advocacy towards increasing girl child education, family planning, maternal health, and encourage private sector investment and monitory for Nigeria”

Since her husband was elected and sworn in as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Wife of the President have been meeting with NGOs and Organisations working for grass root development to contribute as “the wife of the president” and not “the first lady of Nigeria” a position her husband considers “abused” by wives of past Nigerian leaders.
