The Chairman of the Aminu Magashi Garba Foundation (AMGF), Dr Aminu Magashi Garba, has announced the adoption and support to nine Primary Healthcare Centres across Kano State to improve healthcare service delivery.
This was contained in a statement issued by Jalo Sulaiman, Director of Operations at the AMG Foundation
Dr Magashi made the announcement on Thursday, November 6, during the symbolic presentation of drugs and medical consumables to the Accident and Emergency Unit of Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital (MAWTH), Kano.
According to the statement, the support aims to complement the efforts of the Kano State government in providing efficient healthcare services in the state.
Through the support, the AMGF will provide antenatal care drugs and consumables to improve women’s health, reduce pregnancy risks, and decrease maternal morbidity and mortality.
Health Reporters Newspaper reports that the AMG Foundation has previously supported primary healthcare centres in the state with human resources.
Other interventions include embedding and paying a volunteer healthcare worker at Unguwa Uku PHC, Tarauni Local Government Area, and providing and connecting water tanks to a borehole at Diso PHC in Gwale LGA, among other initiatives.
