The Aminu Magashi Garba Foundation (AMG Foundation) said it has sponsored jingles in Hausa language in some selected radio stations to increase mass awareness on voter education.
The jingles which will air in eight radio stations in a staggered manner in Kano State, will broadcast in Hausa language to appeal to the local audience over the next two weeks.
A statement by the AMG Foundation Director of Operations, Mallam Sulaiman Jalo, said the jingle became expedient following recent reports of voters’ card buying by some politicians in the state.
“The jingles will sensitize the general public immensely on the issue,” he said.
While expressing optimism about the potential outcome of the jingle, Chairman of the foundation, Dr Aminu Magashi Garba said, “This is our humble contribution to support voters’ education in Hausa starting from Kano State.
“We are happy that effective from today and over the next two weeks, these jingles will be aired in eight local radio stations in a staggered manner.”
The jingles will air according to schedules on Freedom FM, Nasara Radio, Express Radio and Vision FM.
Other stations include; Arewa Radio, Premier Radio, Radio Kano and Jalla Radio.
The campaign seeks to create civic awareness on effective utilisation of the Permanent Voters Card (PVC), discourage vote buying and the power of PVC as a tool for entrenching good governance.
