AMG Foundation unveils technical support to Kano Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs

The Aminu Magashi Garba Foundation (AMG Foundation) has unveiled a technical support to the Kano State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

AMG Foundation Team led by its chairman, Dr Aminu Magashi Garba stated this during an advocacy visit to the Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Hajiya Amina Abdullahi Sani (HOD).

Dr Magashi commended the Honourable Commissioner for her dedication and efforts since the Ministry’s inception.

He pledged to facilitate connections between the State Ministry of Humanitarian and the Federal Ministries, as well as international donors like the United Nations.

He advised the commissioner to engage stakeholders for interventions and encouraged the ministry’s directors to develop annual operational and strategic plans.

“AMG Foundation will support the ministry to convene a one-day stakeholders forum on a proposed Kano State Humanitarian Agenda. We will also support a two-day working visit to Abuja to explore partnership with the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation and the United Nations Office of the Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator.

“The foundation will also support the development of the 2025 Annual Operational Plan and 5-Year Strategic Plan on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. And support the development of the Kano State Humanitarian Investment Trust Fund,” he said.

Dr Magashi added that the foundation will also support the support the establishment of the Kano State Inter-Ministerial Coordination Committee on Humanitarian Response

In her opening remarks, the Commissioner welcomed the entourage and expressed her appreciation for their visit.

She highlighted Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf administration’s passion for supporting vulnerable populations, including the less privileged and disabled, which led to the establishment of the Ministry.

She assured the foundation of her commitment to collaboration, aiming to elevate the Ministry’s impact on the entire people of Kano State.

The Permanent Secretary, Hajiya Amina Yusuf ‘Yargaya, thanked the AMG Foundation and expressed confidence in the Honourable Commissioner’s leadership and the commitment of all the staff to ensure the achievement of the objectives of the Ministry.
