The Bauchi State Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Leprosy and Malaria (BACATMA) is to conduct an Indoor Residual fumigation of about 6,000 structure in Dambam Local Government Area of the state.
The Executive Secretary of the agency, Dr. Mansur Dada, stated this at the flag–off of the exercise in Dambam.
He said that the exercise was aimed at reducing the menace of malaria in the state, adding that the spray would last for six days.
“The exercise is a collaboration between the Federal Government and Bauchi state Government which is also a pilot exercise. The exercise will also in later time be conducted in the remaining 19 LGAs with the same aim of reducing the burden of malaria,” he said.
The Caretaker Chairman of Dambam LGA, Mr. Mohammed Jauro, commended the agency for selecting Dambam for the pilot exercise of the spray.
Also, the representative of the district head of Dambam, Alhaji Lamido Idris, appreciated the agency for selecting and training Dambam youths for the exercise.
