Bauchi to vaccinate 274,990 children against polio

The Bauchi Local Government Primary Health Care is targeting to vaccinate 274,990 children for the month of March round of polio vaccination exercise in the area.

The Director of the PHC, Bako Garba Gamawa revealed this while flagging off the polio vaccination exercise at Rariya Health facility in Bauchi.

He said the council is doing its possible best to reduce the morbidity and mortality rates due to communicable diseases to the barest minimum, reverse the increasing prevalence of non-communicable diseases to meet the global target on the elimination of polio and the six killer diseases.

Also speaking, Imam Hadi Abubakar encourage parents to vaccinate their children to save the society, the state and the entire country from menace of polio.

In his remark, the District Head of Kobi, Malam Yakubu AbdullahiYakubu called on parents to carter for the wellbeing of their children.

He added that they have set up a committee to resolve all issue of non-compliance in the area and the state in general.
