BUK Old Campus Youth Assembly Honours Dr Magashi

The Bayero University, Kano (BUK) Old Campus Youth Assembly has honoured Dr Aminu Magashi Garba, Chairman of the Aminu Magashi Garba Foundation (AMGF), with a Meritorious Award.

A statement by AMG Foundation Director of Operations, Jalo Sulaiman, said the recognition acknowledges Dr Magashi’s outstanding commitment to youth development and community empowerment.

During the Assembly’s Annual General Meeting on Sunday at the Mahmud Tukur Theatre in BUK, Dr Magashi was recognised alongside other esteemed philanthropists.

Health Reporters Newspapers reports that through the AMG Foundation, Dr Magashi has supported the training of two youth members of the Assembly in modern tailoring and donated two industrial sewing machines to them after completion.

The foundation also supported the laundry business of some members by providing them with overhead water tanks.

“The AMG Foundation also covered cost of drugs of some members. It sponsored the training of six female youth members in hairdressing and styling and provided them with a kit.

“It also supported the training of five female youth members in bakery and pastry business and provided them with a seed money to support the business” part of the statement read.

Jalo Sulaiman added the initiatives was aimed to reduce youth unemployment and promote self-reliance.

During the event, AMG Foundation, represented by Nasir Magashi announced N500,000 intervention funds to the organisation.
