The Chairman of Kuje Area Council, Mr. Abdullahi Galadima, said difficult terrain to some communities has hindered the ongoing
immunisation of children against polio in the area.
Mr. Galadima made this known to newsmen in Kuje shortly after monitoring the immunisation exercise in the area.
The chairman, however, assured that motorcycles would soon be provided to ensure the communities were accessed and the children immunised.
He said that the council had immunised about 50,000 children out of an estimated 63,000 children in the area.
He said that the figure represented 80 per cent and lauded parents for cooperating with health workers to make the exercise a success.
Galadima said that one of his social services to the residents was to ensure children in the area were healthy.
The Primary Health Care Coordinator of the council, Mr. Haruna Agwai, commended the council’s health personnel, traditional rulers and
families for their support.
