The Ekiti Government on Wednesday says it has taken delivery of multi-million Naira medical equipment and consignment of vaccines from the United Nations International Children Education Fund (UNICEF). The state Director, Primary Health Care Development Agency (SPHCA), Dr Joshua Ileke, who took delivery of the vaccines on behalf of the State Government, thanked UNICEF for the gesture.
He said that the consignment was in respect of care for children and vulnerable members of the society. Ileke assured that the vaccines would be distributed to where they are needed without delay.

He said that the agency would upscale the immunisation coverage across the state in line with the health policy initiative of the present administration.
Ileke listed the medical items received from the world body as Oral Polio (OPV), Tetanus Toxid (TT), Yellow Fever and Bacillus Cavetto Curve (BCG).

Other items are Pentavelant (Penta), Syringes and Safety boxes, among others. He charged other donor agencies and well-meaning Nigerians to emulate the passion for children and women displayed by UNICEF so as to achieve a healthier society.
