Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has approved the appointment of heads of seven health agencies in the state with immediate effect.
According to a press statement issued by Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Abba Anwar, Ganduje also appointed 19 other Executive Secretaries, Directors General and Managing Directors of other government department and agencies.
The newly appointed heads of the seven health agencies include Dr Nura Idris Bebeji, Executive Secretary of Kano Health Trust Fund Agency (KHETFUND); Dr Nasir Alhassan Kabo, Director General of Hospitals Management Board, Dr Tijjani Hussaini, Executive Secretary of Primary Healthcare Management Board (PHCMB) and Dr Sabitu Y. Shuaibu Shanono,
Director General of the State Agency for Control of Aids (SACA).
Others are; Dr Halima Mijinyawa, Executive Secretary of the State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency, Pharmacist Magaji Dahiru Zarewa, Director General of the State Drugs and Consumables Supply Agency (SDCSA) and Alhaji Abdullahi Mu’azu Gwarzo, Managing Director of the Refuse Management and Sanitation Board (REMASAB).
The statement added that the 19 agencies include Kano Urban Planning and Development Authority (KNUPDA), Kano Agricultural and Supply Company (KASCO), Kano State Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (KNARDA) and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
Also appointed are heads of Water Board, Pilgrims Board, and Youth Empowerment and Rural Electrification Board (REB) and Kano Investment (KANINVEST) among others.
