The Aminu Magashi Garba Foundation (AMGF) in collaboration with Kano State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation has honoured Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf with 2024 Humanitarian Grand Champion Award.
The award was bestowed on the governor on the commemoration of the 17th October International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.
The honour was in recognition of Governor Yusuf’s passion and commitment to uplifting the living condition of Kano citizens especially women, youth and vulnerable children.
Presenting the award to the governor, the Chairman of AMG Foundation, Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba commended the leadership of Governor Yusuf for all the humanitarian interventions and empowerments towards poverty alleviation.
He further commended the leadership of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Hajiya Amina Abdullahi Sani (HOD) and her team for the good work they have been doing to accomplish the task assigned to them.
Receiving the award on behalf of the Governor Yusuf, the Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo thanked AMG Foundation and the Ministry for the honour.
He added that it was the present administration’s passion and commitment to humanitarian course and poverty alleviation that led to the establishment of the Kano State Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation ministry in April 2024.
