Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has sworn in seven new commissioners and 12 advisers to enhance governance in the state
At an event in the Government House Kano, Governor Yusuf charged the newly sworn in commissioners to be dedicated and committed to their duties.
He told them that their appointments were based on merit and careful selection with a view to ensuring that, capable hands are involved in building greater Kano state.
He reiterated his commitment to addressing numerous challenges, and some uplifting some sectors such as infrastructure, education, and health, as well as enhancing women and youth empowerment as well as boosting water supply, and agriculture.
“Your appointments were made after careful selection of capable individuals who can contribute to our efforts in achieving good governance in the state.
“Our administration will continue to prioritise infrastructure, education, health, women and youth empowerment, water supply, and enhanced agriculture. These areas would see heavy presence of government,” he said.
The governor salutes the support of Kano State House of Assembly for their cooperation and dedication to the development of the state.
The newly appointed commissioners include Ibrahim Wayya (Information), Shehu Wada Sagagi (Investment, Commerce and Industry), Dahiru Muhammad Hashim (Environment), and Ismail Aliyu Danmaraya (Finance).
Others are Gaddafi Shehu (Power and Sustainable Energy), Abdulkadir Abdulsalam (Rural and Community Development), and Nura Iro Maaji (Public Procurement).
He urged the appointees to live up to the expectations of the people by being committed and dedicated to achieving the set objectives.
The Governor reassured the people of Kano of his determination in meeting the yearnings of the people of Kano state.
Similarly, Governor Yusuf swore in six permanent secretaries during the well-attended ceremony held at the Government House, which was attended by numerous dignitaries and supporters.
