The Health Sector Reform Coalition Nigeria (HSRC) in partnership with Legislative Initiative for Sustainable Development (LISDEL) has commenced a planning meeting for a policy dialogue on Health Security Legal Framework and Accountability.
Participating Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) at the planning meeting led by HSRC, includes LISDEL, Centre for Social Justice, Resolve to Save Lives, Africa Health Budget Network (AHBN), and Vaccine Network for Disease Control.
Also participating in the meeting are representatives of government, including the members of the Senate and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), and development partners, including African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET).
Some of the objectives of the planning meeting include; familiarise participants with the coalition’s mandate, as well as progress made towards strengthening legal and institutional and previous investments on health security in Nigeria.
The meeting also articulates coalition’s objectives, scope and strategies for the proposed stakeholder policy dialogue on the current policy initiatives and delineate roles and responsibilities among stakeholders for successful conduct of the policy dialogue.
