In a personal effort to improve health care delivery in General Hospital Azare, Katagum local government area of Bauchi state, a student donated a new generating set (TG 2700) to the laboratory.
Nadia Ali Mohammed, a 300 level student with the department of Biochemistry, Bauchi State University, Gadau campus, a serving Industrial Training (IT) student at the laboratory section of the hospital explained to newsmen that, the generating set is meant to alleviate the problem of power supply mitigating against blood storage and carrying out tests in the laboratory.
She lamented that her concern was born out of the pathetic situation that patients and their relatives undergo before obtaining test results, blood transfusion, treatment and prescription.
Nadia noted that, lack of power supply especially in the laboratory section of the hospital has hampered the operations of available equipment and the only functional blood bank in the hospital.
She hinged that the donation to the support of her husband, Nazeef Aliyu Mohammed who gave her the money to purchase the generating set.
