The Jigawa State Government has inaugurated a 23-member working committee to fashion out ways of improving the quality of education and healthcare delivery in the state.
Public Relations Officer, Office of the Head of the State Civil Service, Malam Ibrahim Isma’il made this known in a statement on Thursday in Dutse, the state capital.
He said that the committee was charged with the responsibility of developing strategic partnerships between the state government and relevant stakeholders, including non-government actors to spur implementation of the action plan.
According to him, the committee will serve as technical working group on issue-based work.
Inaugurating the committee, the Head of Service, Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa, noted that government found it necessary to appoint a group of public servants and other stakeholders to work together to facilitate quality of teaching.
Alhaji Inuwa urged the committee members to discharge their duty diligently.
According to him, members of the committee include; Directors of Medical Services, Nursing Services, Hospital Services, Primary Healthcare Agency, School Services, Primary Education and State Education Inspection and Monitoring Unit.
Others were representatives from Ministry of Health, Nigerian Medical Association, Nigeria Union of Teachers, Forum of Local Government Education Secretaries, Nursing and Midwifery Association.
Medical and Health workers Union, Women for Health, Traditional Institution, Teacher Development Programme, among others made the list.
Responding, the Director of Hospital Services, Ministry of Health, Dr Salisu Mu’azu, thanked the state government for finding them worthy to serve in the technical working group.
The District Head of Dutse, Alhaji Jamilu Basiru, who also spoke on behalf of other members of the group assured the state government that the members would justify the confidence reposed on them.
