The Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Hadiza Balarabe, said the agency had forwarded a proposal to the state government for the release of N100m to provide the services free to women
Dr Hadiza states this in an interview with newsmen in Zaria, Kaduna State on Monday. She spoke on the sideline of a three-day workshop on costed implementation plan for child spacing organised by Palladium and Pathfinder International to promote child spacing in the state.

She also assured women in the state of a “truly free access” to child spacing services with effect from July. “We are the custodian of child spacing activities in the state, we have written a proposal so that we can get the funds to be able to provide the consumables. We are not just working but we are running to get these consumables and commodities across to all the service delivery points,” she said.
The executive secretary said its concept of primary health care under one roof is working. According to her, the intention is to provide immunisation and antenatal services together in each health centre.
On the state target of achieving 46.5 per cent CPR by 2018, Hadiza Balarabe said the target might not be feasible.
“We are just developing the operational plan now, but we will put in our best so that before the end of 2018 we will see how far we have achieved from what we set out initially to do. We are not relenting, we are pushing ourselves, we want to go as far as we can,” she said.
Newsmen report that Palladium and Pathfinder International had in 2016 supported the state develop costed child spacing programme.
The workshop brought together NGOs, Civil Society and community based organisations, international bodies and government agencies among others.
