Kano donates N100m to Borno flood victims

The Kano State Government has donated N100 million as assistance to victims of Borno State flood disasters.

The donation was presented by the Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Amina Abdullahi Sani (HOD), at the Borno State Government House. 

She presented the N100 million on behalf of Governor Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf 

The delegation included the Commissioner of Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye (MON), and Special Adviser Alhaji Danyaro Yakasai.

A statement issued by the Director of Public Enlightenment at the ministry, Halima Sani Gadanya, said the visit aimed to commiserate with the Governor Professor Baba Gana Zulum of Borno State, over the recent Alau Dam breakage that caused devastating flooding across the state.

On behalf of Governor Yusuf and the people of Kano state, Commissioner Amina Abdullahi Sani (HOD) presented a cheque donation of N100,000,000 to support the affected communities.

She emphasised that Governor Yusuf is committed to supporting the vulnerable, less privileged, and people with disabilities, leading to the establishment of the Ministry of Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation.

Responding, Governor Prof. Zulum expressed heartfelt gratitude to Governor Ysuuf Kano State for the generous donation, assuring that the funds would be utilised to benefit those affected by the tragedy.
