The Kano State Zero Dose Learning Hub (ZDLH) has called on the Kano State Chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) to amplify advocacy for children’s health, with a strong focus on the Zero-Dose Children.

Speaking at the Congress meeting of Kano NAWOJ, ZDLH team emphasized that Kano State has one of the highest numbers of zero-dose children, those who have never received a single vaccine.

This reality, it stressed, undermines child survival and exposes communities to preventable disease outbreaks.

Journalists were called upon to use their platforms to raise awareness, challenge weak health systems, and demand accountability to ensure that vaccines reach every child.

According to ZDLH, immunization remains one of the most cost-effective interventions to save lives and protect public health.

The ZDLH stated that by spotlighting the work of the ZDLH and highlighting community voices, women journalists can drive stronger public demand, influence policy decisions, and support equitable access to vaccines across the state.

The call reinforces the role of NAWOJ members not just as reporters but as active agents of change in bridging immunization gaps, reducing zero-dose numbers, and ensuring no child is left behind.
