The Malala Fund says it has invested $7.8 Million in partner organisations and their programmes across Nigeria.

Chief Executive Officer of the fund, Lena Alfi made this known in a statement issued by the fund’s Communications Manager, Nankwat Dakum, on Thursday in Abuja.

“Our organisation is proud to celebrate a decade of impact this year, reflecting on learning, using them to define our new strategy,” she said.

The Malala fund is an international non-profit organisation funded by Malala Yousafzai, with focus on advocacy for girls’ education.

Alfi said that the fund was intentional on the calibre, qualification and experience of its workforce, and was pleased to announce the engagement of Nabila Aguele as Chief Executive, Nigeria and Gayatri Patel as Chief of External Affairs.

She said that Aguele has 20 years of experience and is poised to help drive the organisation’s projects for girls forward.

“Welcoming Nabila and Gaytri to the team is a key step towards that future.

“These women are accomplished, passionate, and innovative leaders, who will surely strategically guide team work to improve outcomes for girls’ access to education around the world,” she said.

“In response, Aguele said, ‘We are advocating for the creation and implementation of key education policies and supporting partner organisations working in states, where girls face the greatest challenges in accessing education.
