The commissioner further said that the state government was committed to its partnership with Pathfinder International Nigeria, an NGO, to improve family planning.

He promised that the state government would continue to create favourable environment to enable development agencies and partners play their part in providing the heath needs of the people.

“The most important thing is that, the state government, via the ministry, has provided a conducive environment for them to have a smooth-free exercise,” he said.

Dr. Iya called on health personnel that would be involved in the family planning programme to be committed to the project to ensure the attainment of the desired success.

Earlier, the Organisational Development Consultant, Pathfinder International Nigeria, Mr. Yemi Osonyi said the meeting was aimed at developing and implementing a blueprint for the programme at the state level.

He noted that there was the need to take proactive measures to encourage the people in the state to practice family planning, holistically.
