The Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Education said no COVID-19 Test is required for students to be admitted into the premises and their classes as they return to their schools.
A statement issued by the Director Press and Public Relations of the ministry, Ben Bem Goong, said only temperature checks should be carried out on students and any other person crossing into schools gate.
The minster warned but public and private school authorities to desist from asking students or parents to undergo COVID-19 test before they are accepted in their schools.
The federal government had announced that schools should resume on Monday, January 18, after due consultations with relevant stakeholders and having taken comprehensive appraisal of the situation to review the date.
According to the federal government, schools must ensure compulsory wearing of Facemasks by all students, teachers and workers in all schools and Temperature checks and hand washing facilities must be at strategic locations in all schools.
