The Kano State Office of the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) has paid a preliminary inspection to the state Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency (DMCSA), as part of prerequisite requirements for granting licence as a mega drug hub.
The state Officer In-charge of PCN, Mrs Hasiya Ladan, said the inspection is a preliminary one, noting that the main supervision is to be carried out by a high-powered technical team from the National head office of PCN in Abuja.
A Statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the agency, Farouk Musa Isa, said Mrs Ladan praised the leadership of DMCSA for what she termed as “managing the organisation very well.”
She expressed her satisfaction with the level of compliance by DMCSA, urging the aAgency to implement recommendations given to them and complete the remaining “finishing touches.””
Receiving the delegation in his office, the Director-General of DMCSA, Phamarcist Gali Sule said: “the agency produced drugs in the recent past.
“We suspended working and embarked on an upgrade of the Drug Manufacturing Unit as recommended by the PCN and National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), so that it will meet all the necessary requirements of these regulatory bodies.”
The director -general thanked the delegation for the visit, assuring them of total cooperation from the DMCSA.
