A member representing Sumaila/Takai Federal Constituency of Kano State at the House of Representatives, Hon. Rabiu Yusuf, has reaffirmed his commitment to improving immunization coverage in his constituency

The lawmaker stated this when the Zero Dose Learning Hub (ZDLH) Advocacy Team, led by Hon. Muhammad Usman and Amina Haladu, paid him an advocacy visit at his office at the National Assembly in Abuja.

The visit focused on strengthening Routine Immunization (RI) efforts in Sumaila local government area, to address zero-dose (ZD) children, and ensuring equitable vaccine access across the constituency.

The ZDLH advocacy team highlighted the current immunization landscape, emphasizing the need for sustained government support, increased budgetary allocations, timely fund releases, and strengthened accountability mechanisms.

They stressed the importance of reaching missed communities and integrating immunization programs into broader primary health care (PHC) strategies to enhance overall health outcomes.

Hon. Yusuf welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed his commitment to improving immunization coverage in his constituency.

He pledged to allocate part of his 2026 constituency funds to support RI initiatives, prioritizing zero-dose children and underserved communities.

Furthermore, he committed to championing immunization efforts at both national and subnational levels, advocating for adequate budgetary provisions for RI at the state and federal levels.

As a strong advocate for child health, Hon. Yusuf assured his full support for all ZDLH activities and vowed to raise awareness within his constituency on the critical importance of routine immunization.

His leadership is expected to drive stronger political commitment and community engagement toward achieving zero-dose reduction targets.
