Sokoto Reps member to serve as Immunization Champion

A member representing Kware/Wamakko Federal Constituency of Sokoto State at the National Assembly, Hon. Abdullahi Ahmad Kalambaina, had pledged to serve as Immunization Champion to advocate for immunization efforts in the state.

The lawmaker made the pledge when the Zero Dose Learning Hub (ZDLH) Advocacy Team led by the coordinator of AHBN, Dr Aminu Magashi and Hon. Muhammad Usman, held an advocacy meeting with him at his in Abuja.

The ZDLH advocacy team engaged him on strengthening immunization efforts in Wamakko LGA, among the LGAs with the highest number of Zero Dose children.

The AHBN team shared updates on the Sokoto Zero Dose Learning Hub (ZDLH) and emphasized the need for stronger CSO engagement, increased immunization funding, timely fund releases, and greater government accountability to improve transparency in immunization financing.

Hon. Kalambaina highlighted his contributions, including allocating funds in his constituency budget to build PHCs in Wamakko and a laboratory for disease screening and sample collection.

He also agreed to serve as an Immunization Champion, committing to advocate for immunization efforts in Sokoto State.

He further pledged to connect the ZDLH advocacy team with high-level political actors to advance policy implementation, ensure sufficient budget allocations, and drive effective resource utilization.
