The Africa Health Budget Network (AHBN) Community of Practice (CoP) on Zero Dose Learning Hub (ZDLH) has paid an advocacy visit to Borno State Commissioner of Health, Professor Baba Mallam Gana.
The Borno State Focal Person of ZDLH, Dr Adamu Alhassan Umar paid the advocacy visit alongside Comrade Ali Yerima Gamboru, a member of the CoP.
During the meeting, Dr Umar briefed the commissioner on the activities of the ZDLH and the CoP and special session on the developed immunization scorecard.
He also informed the commissioner the goodwill, ZDLH/CoP it is generating from the legislative arm of government and the expectations ahead of the 2026 budget preparations and subsequent presentation to the state assembly.
Responding, Prof. Gana expressed enthusiasm on the success recorded by Governor Babagana Umara Zulum administration in the health sector.
The commissioner also reaffirmed that the administration will do more in the coming year, to ensure a drastic reduction in the number of zero dose children across the state.
Health Reporters Newspaper reports that a symbolic presentation of the 2024 immunization scorecard was made to the commissioner.
The team equally briefed on the ongoing efforts in developing the 2025 scorecard.
