ZDLH Team engage Bauchi Assembly on Healthcare, Immunization Budget

The Bauchi State Africa Health Budget Network (AHBN) Focal Person on Zero Dose Learning Hub (ZDHB) had led a group of journalists to the Bauchi State House of Assembly to conduct Qualitative Interview (KII).

The team led by Dr Hassan Shuaibu Musa, during the meeting, had interviewed the Chairmen of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Committees on Health and Appropriation, at the State House of Assembly complex.

Health Reporters Newspaper reports that the interview explored the role of the two critical House Committees in Healthcare and Immunization Budget, particularly their role in reducing Zero Dose children in Bauchi State.

The two committees appreciated Zero Dose Learning Hub for supporting Bauchi State particularly in Budget Advocacy, development of Immunization financing scorecard for the year 2023, 2024 and 2025 respectively, in addition to the conduct of Implementation research and Disseminated Immunization Monitoring.

The chairmen pledged to ensure sustainability in the gains and successes achieved by the Zero Dose Learning Hub especially in budget allocation improvement, budget accountability while ensuring timely releases.

They also commended the AHBN over its continued support to Community of Practice (CoP), support for the conduct of legislative oversight to Zero Dose facilities among others.

Speaking on behalf of the Converner/CEO of African Health Budget Network (AHBN), Dr Aminu Magashi Garba, the State AHBN Focal Person, Dr Hassan Shuaibu Musa thanked the two committees for their unrelenting support to the ZDLH project.
