The Committee constituted by the Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State, to develop the AKY 2.0 Second-Term Blueprint has concluded a two-day strategic retreat held in Kaduna State.
During the retreat, the committee reviewed proposals and recommendations submitted by members of the State Executive Council, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), Community-Based Organisations (CBOs), professional bodies, members of academia and senior government officials.
Led by Dr Aminu Magashi Garba, the retreat provided an opportunity for members of the Committee to carefully consider the submissions, assess their relevance and feasibility, and determine how they can contribute to the development priorities of Kano State.
The Committee also reviewed the implementation of the AKY 1.0 Blueprint, reflecting on achievements recorded during the first term and identifying areas that require further consolidation and attention.
The Committee reaffirmed its commitment to developing a practical, inclusive and people-centred AKY 2.0 Blueprint that builds on the gains of the first term while responding to emerging needs and the aspirations of the people of Kano State.
The Committee emphasised that the Blueprint must be realistic, measurable and focused on interventions that can deliver meaningful and sustainable results.
As part of the resolutions reached at the retreat, the Committee will organise town hall meetings across Kano State following a launch event led by Governor Yusuf.
“The engagements will provide an opportunity to interact directly with citizens, hear their priorities and concerns, present the achievements of the AKY 1.0 Blueprint, and share the Governor’s proposed commitments for the second term as contained in the AKY 2.0 Blueprint.”
The Committee also resolved to complete the AKY 2.0 Blueprint before the commencement of campaign activities by the governor, ensuring that the second-term campaign agenda is properly articulated and ready to guide the next phase of the administration, subject to the Governor’s consideration and approval.
The Committee appreciates the valuable contributions received from members of the Executive Council, CSOs, CBOs, professional bodies, academia and other stakeholders.
“These contributions, it noted, will help strengthen the Blueprint and ensure that the second-term agenda reflects the needs and aspirations of the people of Kano State.”
