In a momentous announcement that highlights Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s commitment to advancing humanitarian efforts in Kano State, Dr Aminu Magashi Garba has been named the Technical Adviser for the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
The appointment, effective September 28, 2024, was officially disclosed on Tuesday by Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor’s spokesperson.

His pivotal role as Chair of the Health Policy and Planning Committee of the Nigerian Medical Association and the establishment of the Kano State Cancer Care Centre are just a few of his remarkable achievements.
Dr Magashi’s leadership was also instrumental as Chairman of the health transition committee, where he collaborated with Governor Yusuf to create a transformative health agenda for Kano State.
