Dr Magashi said, “Our goal is to provide support and relief to those who need it most, and we hope that this fund will make a tangible difference in the lives of cancer patients and their loved ones.”

On her part, Founder and Coordinator of ACCC, Mrs Ummi Musa Umar, said the fund aims to help alleviate the financial burden of cancer treatment for individuals and families struggling to make ends meet.

She added that the NaCaPS is expected to provide financial assistance for medical expenses, transportation, and other related costs for cancer patients.

“We recognise the significant financial strain that cancer treatment can place on families,” Mrs Umar said.

The AHBN Coordinator added that it was agreed that a meeting will be held after Sallah to develop the framework of the new Fund, open a dedicated bank account and set up a management team and its advisory board.

Health Reporters Newspaper reports that the NaCaPS is intended to support; Cost of Cancer Drugs, Consumables and Tests.
