The Chairman of the AMG Foundation, Dr Aminu Magashi Garba, has announced a N1 million support to the Medical Women Association of Nigeria (MWAN), Kano State chapter.
A statement issued by AMG Foundation’s Director Operations, Malam Jalo Sulaiman, annouced that the annoucement was made during a technical meeting at the Africa Health Budget Network (AHBN) Conference Hall in Kano.
He said the support by the AMG Foundation, aimed to improve female doctors’ welfare.
Malam Jalo stated that the AMG Foundation will continue to support MWAN’s plans to secure a secretariat, establish a doctors’ lounge, and improve safety and working conditions.
Dr. Magashi further advised creating a sub-account for welfare and medical emergencies of the female doctors.
MWAN President, Dr. Safiya Garba, welcomed the support and expressed MWAN appreciation to the Chairman of AMG Foundation, adding that the support is timely and would make a great impact on the members of the association.
The meeting was attended by former MWAN Presidents, Dr Binta Jibril Wudil, and Dr. Halima Dal, MWAN President Elect, Dr. Zainab Uba Ibrahim, AMMKaS Chairman, Mallam Salisu Yusuf, CHR Executive Administrator, Malama Nafisat Shehu and MWAN executives.
