Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf’s 2027 Campaign Blueprint Committee has held its maiden meeting on Saturday to review the implementation of the 2023 Blueprint 1.0 titled “My Commitment for Kano,” and to produce Blueprint 2.0 to guide the administration’s policy direction for a second term.
This was contained in a statement issued by Chairman of the committee, Dr Aminu Magashi Garba after its maiden meeting.
The committee has amongst its members seasoned administrators, heads of MDAs, special advisers, academicians, former commissioners and MDs.
The meeting reviewed a draft framework and proposed 16 strategic pillars grouped into six thematic areas, backed with strategic objectives, key activities and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
“The committee brainstormed on Governor Yusuf’s priorities and strategic vision for a second term from 2027 to 2031 and resolved to engage stakeholders from both state and non-state sectors to generate innovative ideas and policy recommendations.
It is also expected that the committee will also produce a comprehensive, inclusive and people-driven blueprint capable of consolidating the gains of the present administration and accelerating Kano State’s development,” he said.
Dr Magashi added that members of the committee reaffirmed their commitment to work together and support Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, realises his vision of the “Kano First Agenda” in line with Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
While providing his opening remark, Dr Magashi emphasized teamwork and resilience to discharge collective responsibilities with ethical professionalism, passion and patriotism to the state.
Health Reporters Newspaper reports that members of the campaign blueprint, in their separate remarks, pledged their full support and commitment towards achieving the objectives of the committee.
“They emphasized the need for stakeholders’ engagement to get inputs of the citizens into the development process,” the statement added.
The maiden meeting concluded with resolutions to be holding meeting twice a week, one virtual and one physical aimed at producing a draft blueprint that will be launched by Governor Yusuf in September 2026, as well as use the blueprint to convene town hall meetings with various stakeholders and groups, media engagement throughout the electioneering period.
It added that the committee will be working under the close supervision of the Governor and his Deputy, Murtala Sule Garo and expected to request for memos from all serving commissioners to enrich the blueprint development and promote inclusivity.
