ATBU College of medical sciences to commence soon – VC

The Vice Chancellor, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi, Professor Saminu Abdullahi Ibrahim has said that all arrangement and structures for the takeoff of the newly approved College of Medical sciences at the Permanent site of University Gubi campus has been completed.

The vice chancellor stated this while delivering his speech during the convocation ceremony of the University held at the Yelwa Campus in Bauchi.

He explained that the Phase 1 and II of the College have been completed, furnished and equipped.

According to him, with the appointment of the Provost and other staff, the College of Medical Sciences has technically taken off.

“We are just awaiting the resource verification visit by the National University Commission (NUC) before we admit our pioneer medical students” Ibrahim said.

He however said, they have already commenced a project that includes a complete new six and a half kilometer reticulation of the campus to address the long standing water supply challenge at Yelwa Campus.

A total of 8127 graduants made up of 847 for Diplomas, 5,577 for first degrees,1620 for PGD/Masters and 85 for PhD’s, 32 obtained first class,1203 second class upper, 2702 second class lower,1481 third class, and 136 got pass.
