Community Health and Research Initiative (CHR) has called on the Niger State Government to develop a separate budget line for Routine Immunization to improve its program implementation plan on immunization.
CHR Program Officer, Ndidi Chukwu made the call during a Coalition of Niger State CSOs and Media on Routine Immunization (RI) stakeholders budget scorecard dissemination meeting held in the state.
In a communiqué issued after two meetings with the coalition and directors of the State Primary Health Care Development Agency, CHR and the State RI Coalition observed that the state’s 2016 budget presented to the assembly did not provide adequate funds for Routine Immunization.

In its recommendation, CHR and the RI Coalition called for urgent development of a budget line for Routine immunization, and also encouraged the state to ensure the participation of CSOs and Media in the budget process to strengthen accountability and transparency.
