COVID-19: Over 20m Nigerians fully vaccinated in 36 states, FCTNPHCDA

The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) said 20,826,424 of the eligible individuals targeted for vaccination are now fully vaccinated with the Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines.

The NPHCDA further disclosed that 28,262,414 of the total eligible individuals targeted for COVID-19 vaccination are also partially vaccinated.

The government agency revealed this on Thursday, while giving an update on the COVID-19 vaccination as of 15 June, 2022, via its official Twitter handle @NphcdaNG.

The NPHCDA data on top states with fully vaccinated individuals shows that Kano has the highest number with 4,009,028. In the second position is Jigawa with 2,867,961; followed by Kaduna – 1,530,097; Nasarawa – 1,418,975; Lagos – 1,243,109; Osun – 745,155; Oyo – 703,866; Ogun – 683,813, and Adamawa – 585,680.

Zamfara is in the tenth position of states with full vaccinated persons with 579,193; Kwara – 537,920; Kastina – 514,156; Delta – 402,314; Sokoto – 381,063; FCT – 356,589; Plateau – 307,024; Rivers – 306,218; Ekiti – 284,269; Bauchi – 280,602; Cross River – 274,301; Gombe – 268,692; Ondo – 267,829.

Others include; Kebbi – 241,275; Abia – 235,552; Borno – 193,115; Niger – 182,019; Imo – 173,989; Anambra – 167,848; Taraba – 157,714; Yobe – 156,929; Kogi – 128,182; Akwa Ibom – 124,167; Edo- 121,058; Enugu – 103,744; Ebonyi – 59,614; Bayelsa – 27,744.

For partially vaccinated person, Kano leads the states with the highest number of 5,872,803; followed by Jigawa – 2,982,241; Kaduna – 2,209,248; Lagos – 1,660,706; Nasarawa – 1,451,396; Ogun – 1,035,430; Zamfara – 876, 304; Osun – 846,414; Kastina – 721,185; Adamawa – 638,596.

Kwara is eleventh in partially vaccinated rates with 618,071; Sokoto – 586, 696; Delta – 576,462; FCT – 527,806; Rivers – 513,335; Kebbi – 497,898; Ondo – 448,269; Cross River – 405,790; Niger – 403,372; Ekiti – 390,522; Bauchi – 382,960; Benue – 333,909; Gombe – 313,950; Plateau – 310,988

Others include; Yobe – 282,713; Borno – 269,218; Abia – 268,593; Kogi – 254,211; Anambra – 245,293; Taraba – 244,445; Emugu – 234,730; Edo – 226,956; Akwa Ibom – 220,054; Imo – 206,058; Ebonyi – 110,586; Bayelsa – 62,930.

NPHCDA in the COVID-19 vaccine update said, “Every day is an opportunity to take responsibility against COVID-19. It is free, safe, effective and protects you, your family and community. If you have taken your first dose, check your vaccination card for your due date and ensure you take the second dose for full protection.”
