The Kano State Government under the leadership of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has released the sum of N50 million to the State Routine Immunization Basket Fund.

Health Reporters gathered from reliable source that the amount is a fraction out of N250 million budgeted by state government in the 2016 budget for routine immunization, as part of the Memorandum of Understanding signed with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Dangote Foundation.

Our correspondent reports that (BMGF) has since released the sum of $315,273 thousand in the basket fund bank account jointly managed with BMGF, Dangote Foundation and the state government.

It would be recall that in late January 2016, Governor Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai of Kaduna State hosted six northern Governors of Kano, Kaduna, Sokoto, Yobe, Borno and Bauchi states to signed an MoU on Routine Immunization with the Co-chair of the Bill and Melinda gates Foundation (BMGF) Mr. Bill Gates and President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote.
