The management of Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi state, on Friday organized a sensitization workshop on prevention and treatment of infectious diseases including Lassa fever.
News men report that, participants at the workshop include medical doctors, nurses and other categories of staff in the hospital.
The hospital’s Director, Dr Jafar Augie said the essence of the workshop is to sensitize and enlighten medical personnel on preventive and curative measures against outbreak of diseases.
He said the hospital has intensified efforts on enlightenment campaigns through radio jingles so as to checkmate outbreak of diseases.
Augie who indicated that it was relevant for health institutions to adopt proactive measures on how to tackle outbreak of diseases so that the public would be aware and implement, commended the state government for providing logistical support available to the hospital for treatment of patients as at when due.
