The Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA) has conferred the honorary title of KSCHMA Ambassador on Dr Aminu Magashi Garba, Chairman of the Aminu Magashi Garba Foundation (AMGF).

A statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of KSCHMA, Aminu Ahmad Turaki, said Dr Magashi was conferred with the title in recognition of his exceptional commitment to improving access to healthcare for vulnerable populations.

Health Reporters Newspaper reports that the conferment took place during a strategic advocacy visit jointly conducted by KSCHMA and the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) to the AMGF’s headquarters in Kano.

The high-level engagement was aimed at strengthening collaboration with philanthropic stakeholders toward achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in Kano State.

The Executive Secretary of KSCHMA, Dr Rahila Aliyu Muktar, who personally presented the certificate of recognition to Dr Magashi, described him as “a true champion of health equity.”

“Dr Aminu Magashi Garba’s pledge to enrol 200 vulnerable individuals into the KSCHMA healthcare scheme is not just a philanthropic gesture, it is a profound leadership statement that sets a precedent for all,” Dr Rahila said.

Adding that, “This Ambassadorial title recognizes his role as a powerful advocate, strategic partner, and public voice for the right to quality healthcare for all citizens, regardless of socioeconomic status.”

In his acceptance remarks, Dr Magashi expressed deep gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting inclusive healthcare systems in the state.

“Healthcare is a right, not a privilege,” said Dr. Garba. “This honour inspires us to do more. My foundation will continue working with KSCHMA and other stakeholders to ensure that the most vulnerable in our society are not left behind.”

“I call on other partners in the private sector and civil society to join this noble cause,” he added.

With this Ambassadorial appointment, Dr Magashi is expected to support KSCHMA in raising awareness, mobilizing resources, and advocating for expanded healthcare coverage across Kano State.
